The Langston Hughes House (HH) is the result of Borough Media President, Shon Miller, Jazz Artist and Cary Out Productions President, Marc Cary, and Motema Records President Jana Herzen, coming together to form a non-profit organization to give back to the greater Harlem Community where their respective businesses are located.  The three individuals and their business entities share office and studio space in the historic Langston Hughes House at 20 East 127th Street in Harlem. They have jointly renovated the Hughes House and have developed the parlor floor as a viable performance and gallery space. The newly formed HH will utilize a significant portion of the time of this space for its educational and artistic programming.

In the spirit of Langston Hughes and the Harlem Renaissance Movement and in perpetuation of the legacy of both, the mission of HH is two-fold:

1)    To serve as an educational resource to the Harlem Community with a special emphasis on youth.

2)    To provide an opportunity in a safe and nurturing environment for artists to present their art with a special emphasis on creative development and exploration.
